Who Are We?
Sandra Moreno
Born in Colombia, Sandra moved to the US at a young age, where she later built a successful career in aviation. As a devoted mother of three, Sandra eventually felt a strong desire to reconnect with her roots and returned to her homeland. Guided by her dreams and intuition, she founded Madre Cocoon retreats last year, creating a sacred space for transformative ceremonies and community building.
Sandra is an internationally acclaimed Yoga teacher with over fifteen years of experience, having taught in the US, Europe, and Japan. Her deep passion for breathing, which she believes is the essence of life, makes Yoga accessible to everyone. According to Sandra, if you can breathe, you can practice Yoga.
Yoga has been instrumental in Sandra’s personal transformation and growth, a journey she shares with her children, who are also dedicated practitioners. She has enriched her practice through numerous workshops and classes in Miami, L.A., and New York, with Gaia Budhai being her most inspiring mentor.

Laura - Mai Edwards
Laura-Mai Edwards found herself anchoring her identity solely on her job, rather than who she was at the root - disconnecting her from her ability to recognise her own authentic capabilities and motivations. The disconnection led to a series of mental health issues which impacted her life significantly.
Through her dedication to nurturing self-discovery and personal growth, Laura-Mai founded Root Beginnings which combines holistic methods of mind-body coaching, yoga & breathwork; and offers workshops & retreats. Through powerful mind-body techniques, her mission is to create intentional space for transformative journeys of self-discovery and deeper connection.
Laura-Mai’s vision is to create a global community of individuals who are deeply connected and inspired by their authentic selves, empowering and supporting each other throughout the journey.

As part of the price of the retreat, you'll get x1 60 min coaching session before the retreat and x1 60 minute session afterwards.

Arrival 5pm - Sunday
The retreat will begin with a gentle flow and meditation to welcome everyone, followed by our first dinner as a group. Our intention is for you to reconnect with your natural flow, there will be optional activities throughout the week which you can join in as much or as little as you desire. There will be plenty of time for R&R, ancient healing practices, cold plunges, sauna, reading, journaling, exploring, Yoga, and nutritious, local food.

Maloka
The Maloka is the heart of Madre Cocoon, the place to practice Yoga, and to connect with our inner wisdom. It's built with traditional materials and techniques used by the indigenous peoples of Colombia throughout the centuries. Malokas are traditionally used for communal gatherings, ceremonies, and as a place for sharing knowledge.
Maloka Room
The Maloka Room is situated beneath the Maloka. It boasts breathtaking views of El Valle de San Nicolás and is ideal for retreats, family stays, and hosting events or retreats. Accommodating up to 5 people, its strategic location facilitates guests' participation in activities taking place in the Maloka.
